Keeping your nails revived!
If you are new to nail enhancements then you will find that life with nails has to be approached differently. It is actually amazing that nail enhancements stay on a natural nail at all; after all it is a growing, oily surface. So, here are some tips to help you to keep your nails looking their best over time.
· If you were never one for wearing rubber gloves, now would be a good time to start! Wear gloves for everything domestic and especially where liquids are involved. Acrylic is porous and overtime even water will weaken the product. Gel isn’t typically porous so can take some immersion in water but don’t over do it!
· Every day apply cuticle oil to your cuticles, this keeps your cuticles moisturised and in good condition, the massage also improves blood supply to the nail bed promoting nail growth.
· Every couple of days you may like to re-apply a coat of clear nail polish. This brings back the shine and keeps your enhancements protected. PLEASE NOTE that if you wish to change your nail polish please use a remover which is Acetone FREE, otherwise you could start to take off more than just your polish!
· Between visits if your nails become too long you can use a natural nail file to gently take down some of the length. Do not use a 'sawing' action as this will weaken the product at the nails edge. Simple sweep around the nail tip several times.
· To open tin cans with a ring pull – PLEASE use something else other than your nails! Try using the handle of a teaspoon.
· The easiest way to lose your extensions is when opening car doors, dishwashers and other appliances with similar handles. Make sure you use your whole hand to open these doors rather than your fingertips. It hurts otherwise!
· Try your hardest not to pick at lifting product, nail enhancements do lift over time and it is very tempting to help them along their way. Leave this bit to your Nail Technician.
· Try and keep to your treatment regime, nail enhancements that are overdue a rebalance are more likely damage easily.
· Finally if you are loving your nails make sure you recommend your Nail Technician!
